Let's Discover You!

Change is something that I don’t always seem to handle very well.  My parents moved a year and a half ago from my childhood home and I’m still bitter - need I say more?  My mom always reminds me that change is good.  Sometimes I am all in with change, and other times I am running as far away as possible.  I know I personally fear change when I am unsure of the future.  When I can see an end result or can better predict an outcome, I am more likely to participate in it.

Two years ago I began my findyourqueendom.com blog (no longer available online).  It was a way for me to reach a wide range of people from a variety of places.  Growing up in the Kitchener-Waterloo area and now living in Toronto, I saw it as a way to stay connected with those who I might not see on a regular basis.  My blog quickly became an outlet for me to discuss a wide range of topics from workouts, nutrition, recipes, mental health, and relationships.  As changes occurred in my life, I shared it with my readers (and no it isn’t just my mom reading each week!).  I realized that when I opened up about things, so too were those reading and I had many reach out to me directly to share their own stories.

The last two years have come and gone and it is now time for a new change in my life.  An updated website! Woo hoo!  This has been a long time coming and I cannot thank Alex enough for her hard work and patience, and for my family and friends for providing input.  It is called Discover You.  It is not only a blog but an entire website for me to share my passions with each and every one of you.

Discover You was developed after many stressful hours of determining a name.  I ultimately landed on this name with the help of my brother one night.  I wanted it to be more than about fitness.  I see my career as more than just getting people fit, but becoming the best version of ourselves through mind, body, and spirit.  To lead a healthy active lifestyle we must work at all components of our lives.  In order to do that, we must learn new things about ourselves and discover the potential we already have within ourselves to accomplish our goals.  Change has to occur if we want to better ourselves.  We cannot get where we want to go by staying where we are.

My goal is to be your guide as you begin your own journey to discover you, changes and all.  Thank you for your continued support and I look forward to connecting with you all in the weeks and months to come.

Be fierce.  Be strong.  Be vibrant.
