What makes you feel fearless?

Fear is such a strange thing.  If you look up the definition, it has to do with threatening or dangerous feelings and emotions.  If you relate this to what you fear most, it most often has to do with being afraid to fail, underachieve, or fall short of perfect.  We fear those things and become anxious because it might be new or cause us to step out of our comfort zone.  Despite all of these negative feelings, if there is one thing that I continue to learn in my own life is that amazing things can happen when we step out of our comfort zones.  I also have realized that if we do fail, we have plenty more to learn from and work at than when we succeed.  We learn from our experiences, good or bad, and they help to better shape us into the best possible humans.  Nobody is perfect.  We all have room for improvement.

For me, being fearless does not mean a lack of fear.  It means embracing the fears and reservations you have head on.  Being fearless means digging deeper.  Perhaps understanding where those thoughts and feelings are originating from and owning that.  Being fearless also means owning your entire self just as you are.  Displaying confidence.  Tackling obstacles.  Coming out on the other side stronger, more determined, with lessons learned.  That is what fearless is.

As many of you know the second Fully Fearless event is coming up next Saturday!  For those of you who don’t know, Fully Fearless is a female empowerment I created alongside two of my amazing female friends to create a positive, fierce tribe of women.  While we create the curriculum and discussion topics for each event, I feel like the three of us also get to do some soul searching and personal development along the way.  This time around we have recently been asking, “what makes you feel fearless?”.  So, I figured it only made sense to tackle it right here.

I feel fearless when I am wearing one of my favourite Nike outfits, ponytail high, curly hair waving, smile spread wide, mic’d up, and ready to lead a workout session.  I feel most confident here.  It is my time to shine, to own the studio, to share my knowledge and passion with everyone who is in my presence for that one hour.  I always tell everyone to leave everything else on the other side of the door to deal with later.  And I too do just that.  This is our safe space to love ourselves and feel our best.  This space makes me feel fearless because I am provided the opportunity to inspire and motivate others.

This week, I’d love for you all to take a moment to reflect on a moment that makes you feel fearless.  For some of you, this might come easier and for others, it may take some time.   Confidence goes a long way.  Own everything.  The good, the bad, the ugly.  We all go through it.  When the going gets tough, come back to what makes you feel fearless so that rather than looking for the light at the end of the tunnel, you and you're fearlessness can be the light.  Have a great week and looking forward to connecting with those who will be at Fully Fearless Saturday!

Be fierce.  Be strong.  Be vibrant.
